us for Destination: Opera!®, a weekend-long
exploration of opera’s extensive history
at the Jersey Shore, taking place on September
12 – 14, 2009 in Ocean Grove, NJ.
Friday,
September 12th “A
Century of Opera at the Jersey Shore” presentation.
Join us at the Bishop Janes Tabernacle
in Ocean Grove at 7 PM. Free and Open to
the Public with seating for up to 250 guests!
Saturday
September 13th
Historical Walking Tours will depart
regularly [Times to be listed shortly] from
the Historical Society of Ocean Grove [50
Pitman Ave; Ocean Grove]. Listed on the
National and State Register of Historic
Places, Ocean Grove represents the largest
collection of Victorian architecture in
the United States. There will be three walking tours at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM. For information, please visit www.oceangrovehistory.org. Please call 732-774-1869 for reservations. Fee is $10.

September 14th
Grand Opera by the Shore concert at 3 PM
at the magnificent Great Auditorium. Join
the State Opera in a concert of musical
fireworks, showcasing an international roster
of star soloists with the New Jersey State
Opera Orchestra and Chorus under the baton
of Music Director Jason Tramm. For tickets

Opera by the Shore Stars:
Russian
tenor Vladimir Galouzine, who just completed
a triumphal performance as Alexi in The
Gambler at the Met this past April, headlines
the cast. Also starring are opera luminaries
Boris Statsenko and Nataliya Tymchenko from
Russia, Gregg Baker Marquita Lister, and
Ronald Naldi from the United States, and
Manrico Tedeschi from Canada. Renowned organist
Gordon Turk will also be featured performing
Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana on the famed
Hope-Jones Organ. Newly auditioned chorus
members from the NJSOpera’s Summer 2008
State-Wide Talent Search will be featured
as well.
